Love stories are always entertaining. They take you on a rollercoaster of emotions – the pain, the joy, the hope, the realization that something better is yet to happen. You picture yourself in the lives of those characters.

Kimi No Na Wa (Your Name) does so in a way that one may never expect. The story of two distant lovers and how they never truly know one another makes you want to cry. (Let’s be real here, there are a good number of grown men that cried while watching this movie.)

The movie does a good job of keeping you entertained. The movie is good. The cinematography is excellent and key visuals and character designs are beautiful. As a girl, I thought that the story was romantic. You can’t help but want to fall in love yourself.

BUT

I think the story has an obvious plot flaw that the viewer knows something is going to happeneither something truly tragic or beautiful. However, I didn’t find the twist necessarily bad nor was it portrayed poorly. The whole movie had me saying, “ok so when are things going to hit the fan.”

The movie has many great aspects to it with amazing music that sets the mood, a bit of sci-fi and mystery. The movie leaves you with a glimmer of hope that you, yourself, will find love one day.

If you haven’t already, watch the movie. If you have, leave a comment to let me know if you thought it was a predictable storyline! (or, if you cried. I promise I won’t judge you.)
